After a long time of healing and heartache, it is with a heavy heart that we learned of the passing of Emma K. Martinez on Tuesday, September 2nd due to a car accident in the New Jersey Turnpike at the age of 21. |
Emma, who was to be a Senior at St. John's in the Fall loved live and lived it to its fullest. Upon her joining the Mixed Chorus, she won the respect of our late director, Richard Pretzer and was eventually given the honor of choreographing the chorus for a number that was to be performed at the first ever Performing Concert. Scheduling conflicts forced her to leave the work unfinished. However, in the fall of 2002, she returned to the Mixed Chorus. |
After the untimely demise of Richard Pretzer, Emma was selected to be one of 3 singers for one of the two dedication songs in honor of him. With the help of current Chorus President Molly Rokasy, and Pamela Gaddi, they helped make the night one of the most memorable.
Emma, may all the angels and saints be with you now in Heaven and may you always be with our loving and almighty Father. And May God's strength, love, and mercy be with your family, friends, and loved ones at this time of their need. -St. John's Mixed Chorus- |
